Article 7: The Seal of the Chapter

The seal of the chapter shall be guarded scrupulously under three locks, out of which the Abbot shall have [the key to] one, the prior - to the other, and to the third - a discrete and pious person from the cloister, with the consent of the chapter and the abbot. And they are not to seal with it (i.e. the seal of the chapter) any debt or appropriation, or any contract, without the consent of the chapter. The privilegia of the church are to be guarded in the abovementioned manner.

SIGILLVM CAPITVLI : articulus 7.

Sigillum capituli sub tribus clauibus diligenter custodiatur, e quibus abbas unam habeat, alteram prior, tertiam aliquis claustralis discretus et religiosus de consensu capituli et abbatis. Nec de illo sigillent debitum uel alienationem, uel aliquem contractum sine consensu capituli, et sub praedicta custodia priuilegia ecclesiae conseruentur.
