Article 4: On Prohibited Games

[The brothers] should avoid games of dice, chess, bone pieces and others in which something may be lost, and also the practice of hunting. They should neither watch people playing, nor allow these to occur in the hospices, and they should not join company with players for the purpose of losing or winning. If they do this, they shall be severely punished.
