Two more precepts on the confession of women

First, it is prohibited for the religious to hear women in confession after the meal unless there is some necessity for it.

Secondly, it is prohibited for them to be alone with the women who are confessing. But I believe that this precept was instituted more for the preservation of chastity than because of the authority of confession. Yet it stands that many cannot nor should stand to put their hearts in sacred confession all together and singly, but that they should have the priests be in the cathedral of their church, in a bright rather than a hidden spot where it would be easy for the transaction to be seen, but not heard, by many.
